Fortaleza Reposado Tequila, a distinguished member of the Tequila Los Abuelos collection, epitomises the rich heritage of artisanal tequila production. Hailing from the heart of Jalisco, Mexico, this tequila is a product of five generations of the Sauza family, with "Los Abuelos" paying tribute to the ancestral wisdom and expertise passed down through the years.

The journey of Fortaleza Reposado begins with hand-harvested Blue Weber agave plants, carefully cultivated on the estate. The piñas, or agave hearts, undergo slow roasting in traditional stone ovens, extracting the essence of the agave. The juice is naturally fermented using airborne yeast and then distilled in copper pot stills, adhering to time-honoured methods that prioritise quality over quantity.

The term "Reposado" indicates that this tequila has been rested or aged, and Fortaleza Reposado typically matures for up to eight months in American oak barrels. This brief aging process imparts a golden hue to the spirit and introduces nuanced flavours of vanilla, caramel, and subtle oak, while maintaining the agave's core vibrancy.
